Vee Gee 6613-N Alcohol Hydrometer, 125-145% Proof Range, Internal Revenue Size N, 0.2% Subdivision, 305 mm Length
Manufacturer: Vee Gee
Brand: VeeGee
Model: 6613-N
The Hydrometer is an instrument which is constructed on the Archimedes principle that a solid body displaces its own weight of the liquid in which it floats. Hydrometers can be divided into two general classes; namely for liquids heavier than water and for liquids lighter than water. The base hydrometer scale is Specific Gravity, in which distilled water equals 1.000 as the initial point. Liquids lighter than water are scaled below 1.000 specific gravity and liquids heavier than water are scaled above 1.000 specific gravity. Hydrometers are usually calibrated at 60°F/60°F. To determine the density of a liquid, the liquid should be at 60°F. If the temperature varies, the liquid will either contract or expand, depending upon the temperature. Where there is a variation from the standard 60°F, corrections must be applied to the hydrometer reading. To assure proper corrections, a separate accurate thermometer should be used, or a hydrometer in combination with a thermometer, which is sometimes referred...
H-B DURAC B61891-3900 1.650/1.700 Specific Gravity ASTM 138H Hydrometer for Heavy Liquids
Manufacturer: Bel-Art
Brand: SP Scienceware

Thermco GW2517C Combined Form Brix Hydrometer, 9 to 21° Brix Range, 0.1° Brix Division, 0 to 50°C Temperature Range, 320mm Length
Manufacturer: Thermco Products Inc.
Brand: THERMCO
Model: 1221K69EA
Hydrometers are manufactured to the exacting specifications provided by NIST, ASTM/API and IRS and are calibrated against standards traceable to NIST. A certificate is provided with each hydrometer assuring that the user receives a quality instrument. The Brix scale is used in sugar refineries, and also often encountered on wine labels where it describes the sugar content of the grape juice from which the wine was made. Each two degrees Brix of the juice leads to about 1% alcohol by volume in the wine. The Balling scale is numerically the same as the Brix.
