The Thomas Traceable Food Thermometer is designed to measure temperature in food labs, food processing, food preparation, and brewing. The thermometer measures temperature from -50 to 280 degrees C (- 58 to 536 degrees F), with an accuracy of + or - 1 degree C. The 8" stainless steel probe has a piercing tip and is resistant to most laboratory chemicals. The LCD display has 1/4"-high digits and is perpendicular for easy viewing of results. The thermometer is traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology standards, indicating that it is calibrated to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 17025 levels.
